georgia southern radiology program

georgia southern university offers bachelor of science degrees and post-baccalaureate certificates leading to certification in several career specialties in the radiologic sciences. graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification examination in their specific area of specialty. our degree completion programs offer certified professionals in the radiologic sciences (rt) a path to complete a bachelor’s degree and develop additional professional practice skills and technical skills in the radiologic sciences. in this program, individuals who are certified or eligible to sit for a certification exam in one area of the radiologic sciences may complete a bachelor’s degree while preparing for additional certification in either radiation therapy, nuclear medicine or sonography.

all clinical education courses can be conducted at sites close to where the students live, however, students who are outside of savannah will be responsible for identifying potential clinical education sites in their area. if you already have a bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology, radiologic sciences, or a related area, you can prepare for certification in an additional modality through our post-baccalaureate certificate programs in nuclear medicine or advanced imaging (ct, mri or mammography). upon graduation from georgia southern university, radiography, radiation therapy, and nuclear medicine students will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination of the american registry of radiologic technologists (arrt). if you are unsure of which program you are interested in, you can learn more about the imaging sciences by visiting the american society of radiologic technologists. the department of diagnostic and therapeutic sciences offers a baccalaureate degree in radiologic sciences with initial certification, an rt to bsrs degree completion program, an rt to bsrs degree completion with certification in an additional modality, and post-baccalaureate certification in additional modalities.
